So you are thinking of having a portrait created. Maybe you are recently engaged or just a couple that hasn't had a portrait in awhile. Maybe there has been a change in the family—new additions of kids getting ready to leave for college and beyond. Whatever the reason you are wondering about the whole process.
Do We Just Show Up and Get Pictures?
No, that's probably what would happen at a department store photography studio but we take a different approach. One we think might be a little less stressful. Think of your portrait as an investment—in time, energy and certainly money. We want to assist you with making decision on portrait style, clothing choices and certainly on end product. Are you thinking of a nice large portrait over the fireplace or couch? Maybe a series of smaller portraits for the wall or an album or custom book.
There are so many questions to answer. That's why we offer a complimentary pre-session consultation to plan out how the portrait will be created.
Since we've done pre-planning the session usually runs smoother than if not and a little more quickly. That said, we certainly do not rush you in and out. You have ample time to make sure hair and makeup are ready and for clothing changes. We also allow time for backdrop and lighting changes. There is even time for individual family members to have portraits created.
How Do We See Our Portraits?
About a week after your session we will have you back for your ordering session. This is where we sit down and review your portraits on a large screen. We will walk you through product select at this time and show you framing options as well. We have custom software that can help you visualizewhat your final product will look like. We even can show you what your portrait would look like on the wall of your home. All of our products are archival meaning that they are created for longevity, for you to pass down to the next generation.
When Can We Expect Our Finished Portraits?
Usually we can have finished portraits in a week to 10 days; larger framed or canvas portraits will take a little longer. Good custom artwork takes time but is well worth the wait!
